  1. Participants (n = 144) were initially categorized based the status of glycaemic control then on the basis of age as < 18 year and ≥ 18 years. Odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were determined using binary logistic regression analysis while controlling for haemoglobin variants. p-values in bold were statistically significant at p ≤ 0.05. The reference groups in the logistic regression diabetics patients less than 18 years old
